UPDATE: More details on Lacey Evans’ WWE departure have now emerged and can be found at this link.
WWE themselves have now officially confirmed that Lacey Evans has left the company.
Over the past two days, Lacey has been dropping hints that she would be leaving the company, which included removing references to the company from social media, referring to herself as ‘FKA WWE Superstar Lacey Evans’.
Dave Meltzer had reported that Lacey was done with the company, but WWE still had her listed on the internal roster, but that has now changed.
WWE has confirmed Evans’ departure, with her being removed from the WWE.com roster page, now being listed under the alumni section.
Lacey isn’t the only person to be moved to the alumni section, as WWE also moved Jey Uso to the alumni section after he quit WWE on last week’s SmackDown show, though his being moved is simply for a storyline.
We still don’t know yet whether it was a case of Evans asking for her release and it being granted, WWE choosing to release her without her requesting it, or a contract expiration.
Evans signed with WWE in 2016 and worked in developmental (NXT) until she was called up to the main roster in 2019.
Her last match was a dark match at SmackDown on July 7 where she lost to Zelina Vega.
As for her final TV match, that was a loss to Charlotte Flair on the June 23 SmackDown.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
