A WWE star has been replaced in the 2025 Queen of the Ring tournament due to ‘missing a flight’ for tonight’s SmackDown.
The 2025 King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments kicked off on this week’s episode of Raw, with Roxanne Perez and Sami Zayn being the first names to advance to the semi-finals of their respective tournaments.
The first round matches continued on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, with all four of SmackDown’s first round matches taking place on tonight’s show.
The Queen of the Ring Tournament would see one four-way consisting of Jade Cargill, Piper Niven, Nia Jax and Michin, and the other pitting Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Chelsea Green and Candice LeRae against each other.
However, on tonight’s show, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was approached in his office by the Secret Hervice, with Piper Niven on facetime with Chelsea.
Chelsea told Aldis that she ‘missed her flight’ to Lexington, Kentucky for tonight’s SmackDown show, and proposed that Aldis postpone their match.
However, instead, Aldis noted that Alba Fyre was not a part of the tournament, and subbed her into the match with Charlotte, Alexa and Candice in Chelsea’s place.
