A WWE star has been replaced in an ongoing tournament after suffering an injury during a match on Monday, June 2.
Prior to Monday’s episode of WWE Raw in Tulsa, Oklahoma, WWE taped a Men’s WWE Speed Championship number one contender tournament match between NXT’s Lexis King and Raw’s Joaquin Wilde – a match that ended in a no contest after Wilde was knocked out cold.
While Wilde updated fans to say that was doing okay after the incident, he was pulled from his scheduled six-man tag team match at tomorrow’s WWE & AAA Worlds Collide event – with Lince Dorado stepping in to team with Dragon Lee and Cruz Del Toro in Wilde’s place.
It turns out that isn’t the only match Wilde was pulled from however, as WWE have today posted footage of a new match in the men’s Speed tournament – with Lexis King taking on Noam Dar – who has stepped in as a replacement for the LWO member.
As can be seen down below, the match was taped in the WWE Performance Center at this week’s NXT – an unfamiliar setting for WWE Speed.
Noam Dar was the one who picked up the win in the match, advancing into the finals of the tournament – where he will face off with SmackDown’s Berto.
The winner of that match will then take on reigning Men’s WWE Speed Champion El Grande Americano.
We continue to wish Joaquin Wilde well in his recovery and will provide updates on his status as they become available.
