A WWE Raw star has commented on how rap music and his venturing into the music business have helped develop his wrestling career.
R-Truth was the latest guest on New Day’s Feel The Power podcast, during which he spoke about how the pro-wrestling and music industries are so similar.
Truth said:
“I think they go hand in hand. And I would say this, that I’ve been in the wrestling business as long as I’ve been, I’ve learned so much about it. To be able to like walk and handle the music business even though the music business is what led me here, it’s like I’ve matured in this business.
“Because of wrestling, I’ve matured. When we come out man our music is the first thing that sets us off. It sets the bass, sets the tone. Music just like goes hand-in-hand with it.
“Once you put a character with it, which my musical character is just me and I don’t have to put anything with it but just energy and it’s just me. So I think the two coincided helps each other out.”
Truth is still a regular on WWE TV as a now 42-time 24/7 Champion, and has released a number of tracks over the past couple of years.
