WWE Star Says He Needs To Be WWE Champion

Bobby Lashley has had a WWE career filled with ups and downs. Currently, he is the United States Champion, but that doesn’t mean he is satisfied. We know he wants to wrestle Brock Lesnar, but now he has said he needs to be WWE Champion.

Lashley recently spoke with Sports Illustrated where he talked about wanting the WWE Championship. He also mentioned that he wants to win the title for his kids and other kids who look like him. Here is the quote:

“I’ve got the United States title, and that’s an amazing accomplishment, but I need a stamp on my career. That’s the WWE Championship, and the opportunity is there for me. I’m the ‘Black Superman,’ and that world title is what I need. I just need to stay healthy, keep kicking ass, and continue moving forward.

“If I win that world title, I’ll always be known as a former world champion. I want to do that for myself, I want to do that for my children, and I also want to do it for the kids that look like me.”

Lashley defeated Apollo Crews for the United States Championship at WWE Payback. It is his second reign with the title but his first since coming back to WWE in 2018. He did face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Backlash but was unsuccessful. To date, that was the only singles match for the WWE title since returning to the company.
