A WWE star currently on the Raw brand has compared the processes of NXT and the main roster, calling them “completely different worlds”.
It’s no secret that there are differences, but former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Angel Garza has basically said they’re complete opposites.
Speaking with Lucha Libre Online, Garza said:
“Look, they are two completely different worlds. You can see it on the television programming. An NXT product is completely different than a SmackDown or Raw product. They are very different processes (creatively speaking). I can tell you that in one you are at the North Pole and in the other you are at the South Pole. It is within the same company, but it does have its differences. The matches have much longer time on NXT than on RAW or SmackDown. The same in terms of storytelling. It’s just completely different.”
Garza’s main roster won has hit a bit of a standstill since the WWE Draft. He most recently was 24/7 Champion for four days, winning it on New Year’s Eve, but other than that he’s just been on Main Event in recent months.
The differences between NXT and the main roster were probably put best by Edge on last night’s show. He said that on Raw and SmackDown, the emphasis is on the ‘E’ in WWE (Entertainment), whereas in NXT it’s the second ‘W’ (Wrestling).
