WWE Star Fires Shot At Current Champion Ahead Of Upcoming Match

A WWE star has fired a shot at a current champion ahead of their upcoming match, referencing their shared history.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have been set up as the next challengers for A-Town Down Under’s WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown.

On this week’s show, Theory faced off with Tommaso Ciampa in singles action, with Ciampa scoring the victory after Waller shouted about how he made Theory relevant with their team.

Gargano took exception to Waller’s comments, noting that he never spoke to Theory that way when they were together in ‘The Way’ in NXT.

Waller responded, calling The Way a ‘Johnny Gargano vanity project’, and claiming that Theory took off once he left.

He said:

The Way was a Johnny Gargano vanity project.

You made him look like a dumb mark who had to carry your bags.

Theory took off the moment he left that cringe group

Gargano responded to Waller’s comments, noting that Theory would have become successful without Gargano, but Waller would not, calling back to him attacking Gargano on Gargano’s last night in NXT back in 2021.

He said:

I never took credit for his accomplishments. I gave him a platform because I respected his potential and his talent.

He’d be known without “Johnny Gargano”..

I don’t know that I can say the same about his current partner who was struggling to get on 205 Live before this..

Gargano and Waller are set to face off on next week’s episode of SmackDown.
