After letting dozens of people go last year, WWE now seems to be looking to sign their talent to contract extensions once again. The latest star to reportedly be signed to a long-term deal is SmackDown star Chelsea Green.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has reported that Green recently signed a three-year contract extension with WWE. The deal was reportedly signed sometime after she injured her wrist during her main roster call-up.
The report also mentioned that her original deal was set to expire in Summer 2021. She will now be under contract until 2024.
Green was called up to the main roster on the November 13, 2020 episode of SmackDown. She competed in a four-way match with Natalya, Tamina, and Liv Morgan, which she was scheduled to win. However, due to her injury, she would spend most of the match inactive as Morgan would go on to win.
They also mention that there have been several creative pitches for Chelsea Green. This would indicate that WWE brass has plans for her once she returns from her injury. For more information on her injury please check out our injury tracker here.
