A WWE star has officially switched brands as he’s been announced as officially signing to the roster for a new show.
Since its debut in March, WWE Evolve has essentially served as a show that’s a tier below NXT, featuring rarely used NXT stars as well as Performance Center talents and WWE ID prospects who have yet to debut on NXT.
Some familiar names from NXT who weren’t getting much TV time have become regulars on Evolve, such as Wendy Choo.
Tonight, another name appears to have been added to that list in the form of Dante Chen.
Stevie Turner, the Evolve “Prime Minister” introduced Chen tonight as the newest signing to the brand.
Chen has been in NXT system for years and looked set for something of a push as far back as the early days of NXT 2.0.
However, injuries stunted his momentum and he’s never got back to being regularly featured on NXT TV.
Now, it looks like he’s officially been moved to the Evolve roster rather than the NXT roster, although that doesn’t mean he won’t still appear on NXT going forward as there are regular crossovers, as we’ve seen recently with the likes of Sean Legacy and the Vanity Project.
