WWE Star Opens Up On Being ‘The Sole Gimmick’ In The Company

A WWE star has opened up on how it feels to be the ‘sole gimmick’ in the company and how he adds to his character.

When former NXT Tag Team Champions the War Raiders were called up to the WWE main roster back in 2019, they were repackaged into Erik and Ivar of the Viking Raiders.

In the years since, they have maintained their viking-like personas on Raw and SmackDown, and with Erik currently out of action with an injury, Ivar has been showcased as a singles star.

Speaking to TV Insider, Ivar opened up on how he finds inspiration on his character, and how it feels being the ‘sole gimmick’ in the company.

He said:

“We watch every Viking movie and TV show that comes out. Just to be able to create and expand on what we see. We want to take things we see and morph them into whatever we want it to be for our characters.

“A lot of people may hate it, but it’s cool to us that we have this gimmick and nobody else does. We are the sole gimmick in WWE right now really, so it’s fun to play with that and do Viking things.”

Ivar was drafted to the Raw roster as part of the 2024 WWE Draft.
