WWE star Omos has teased a match with former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi.
Omos has been absent from WWE television since the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal ahead of WrestleMania 40.
While the former Raw Tag Team Champion has been on the sidelines, Oba Femi has experienced a rise up the ladder, becoming the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion of all time.
Speaking to WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker on his Six Feet Under podcast, Omos admitted he’s been getting called out by Oba Femi. He said:
“I’m [at the Performance Center] every week. The other kid that’s down there right now, he kind of called me out and I told him, ‘Not time yet,’ Oba Femi. I was like, ‘in due time, brother. We’re going to square off. Patience.'”
“I’m learning from [The Undertaker]. He taught me this, you got to think about long-term business.”
“If you give the fans this match now, five years down the line it doesn’t mean anything anymore. They’ve seen it already.”
“But if we waited three or four years, then we give you the match, there’s something there. But you want them to clamor for it even more before,”
It remains unknown when Omos will make his return to WWE at the time of this writing.
Femi last wrestled in a loss to Tony D’Angelo in a Tables, Ladders and Scares Match for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc.
