Roman Reigns has reigned as the WWE Universal Champion for over two years in WWE, capturing the championship from Bray Wyatt at Payback in 2020 in a Triple Threat match also featuring Braun Strowman.
Reigns has defeated every foe in his path, including Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Edge, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Brock Lesnar and most recently Drew McIntyre.
It is no secret that WWE is hoping to get The Rock to agree to a match with Roman, presumably for the championship at next year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles, with WWE reportedly not wanting to beat Reigns before then.
WWE SmackDown star Ricochet recently spoke to NBC Sports Boston, where he was asked about who would be the man to dethrone Roman Reigns, and why Ricochet believes it will be The Rock.
He said:
“Yeah, I mean because The Rock is just the best in the world. Who else is it gonna be, you know what I mean? I mean, Roman is on a freaking roll right now, I’d like to get my hands on him too. I think, I know Roman is Roman but I’m never gonna say nobody will beat me. I’m not ever gonna say that, you ain’t never gonna find that. But, The Rock is just, I mean.. I don’t even know what to say. What can you say? He can do anything he wants to do.”
Reigns is set for his next Undisputed WWE Universal Championship defence against Logan Paul at the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on November 5.
