WWE Star To Challenge For TNA Wrestling Championship

A WWE star is set to challenge for a TNA Wrestling Championship at the company’s upcoming Sacrifice event.

On what was a very busy night of WWE and TNA crossovers, the February 20 episode of TNA iMPACT was broadcasted live from the former home of NXT – Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.

While the show opened with unexpected appearances from former WWE stars Elijah (fka Elias) and The Colóns (fka Primo & Epico), several current WWE stars would appear throughout the night.

First to appear was NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont, with the latter two taking on The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) in tag team action.

After The Rascalz scored the win Wes Lee challenged Wentz, Miguel and Ace Austin to a six-man tag team match at TNA Sacrifice on March 14, a match that was made official for the upcoming event shortly thereafter.

Later in the show reigning NXT Champion Oba Femi made his TNA debut on iMPACT, with The Ruler following up his face-to-face with X-Division Champion Moose on Tuesday’s NXT with another confrontation between the two.

As can be seen below, Femi made the save on behalf of The Hardys and Leon Slater, who were being attacked by Moose and The System. It was later announced that Femi will team alongside Matt & Jeff to take on Moose, Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards in a six-man tag match on next week’s TNA iMPACT (February 27).

Lastly, after a month of back-and-forth between the two stars across NXT, TNA and social media, Cora Jade appeared on iMPACT and ambushed Slamovich after her quick win over Mila Moore.

After the attack it was confirmed that Jade will challenge Masha Slamovich for the TNA Knockout’s Championship at Sacrifice.
