It has been theorised and speculated that former Sanity member Nikki Cross could be forced to pull out of her SmackDown Women’s Championship tonight at Clash of Champions against Bayley.
For those that don’t know, Nikki Cross didn’t appear on Friday night’s SmackDown and Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that the SmackDown star was not at the Amway Center for the show.
On his show, Meltzer noted that he’d asked his sources within WWE about whether or not Nikki Cross would be able to appear on the Clash of Champions show tonight, but didn’t hear back from any of them:
“If she’s there [at Clash of Champions], she’s there. I asked this morning [on Saturday] if she was going to be there, and nobody got back to me, which is your answer.”
At this time, there is no word on what kept Nikki Cross from being at SmackDown on Friday night. However, some have speculated that it could be linked to the reported outbreak of COVID in NXT.
For those that don’t know, while the outbreak is believed to have mainly impacted NXT, Nikki Cross is married to Killian Dain, who currently wrestles for the black and gold brand.
At this time, WWE has not commented on the possibility of Cross missing the show. Make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as we draw closer to the pay-per-view.
