A WWE star officially turned heel at the end of tonight’s September 22 episode of Raw in Evansville, Indiana.
The main event of tonight’s show was Rhea Ripley vs Asuka in a match made earlier in the night following a backstage altercation.
For a number of weeks now, Asuka has been trying to get in between the budding friendship between IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.
She has essentially demanded that both of them back off from each other, leaving SKY in a position where she doesn’t want to go against Asuka’s wishes, but at the same time, she doesn’t understand why Asuka has a problem with SKY being on good terms with Ripley.
Also caught in the middle has been Kairi Sane, who has stuck by Asuka’s side, but has seemed to make attempts to smooth things over with SKY.
The end of tonight’s WWE Raw main event saw Ripley pick up the win, but she was attacked afterwards by Asuka, who sprayed her with the green mist.
Asuka then ordered Sane to help attacking Ripley, which Sane did, before IYO SKY ran out to the ring.
SKY tried to persuade Asuka to back off, but Asuka instead attacked SKY, and once again demanded Sane join in, which again, Sane did, although she did seem reluctant in doing so.
The show went off the air with Asuka standing tall, Sane looking somewhat dejected about what had just happened but still standing by Asuka’s side, and Ripley and SKY both laid out.
Asuka has been showing some real heel tendencies for weeks, but tonight cemented a full turn.
