A WWE star turned heel on tonight’s August 6 NXT as he attacked his now-former friends after the group lost a match.
While some may have expected the NXT Tag Team Champions to implode as simmering tensions have been teased between Nathan Frazer and Axiom, instead it was their opponents who ended the night separated.
In the NXT main event, former NXT Tag Team Champions MSK, Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee, looked to regain the titles they had never lost.
Shortly after reclaiming the NXT Tag Team Championship back in 2022, Wentz was released from WWE, leaving Wes Lee stripped of his title and alone in NXT.
Despite a miscommunication within the match that saw Axiom superkick Frazer in the face, the NXT Tag Team Championship will remain with Nathan Frazer and Axiom as they defeated MSK tonight.
However, after the match there was a major development as The Rascalz (Lee, Wentz and Trey Miguel) stood in the ring hugging.
That didn’t last long though, as Lee suddenly superkicked Miguel and then attacked former tag partner Wentz shouting at Wentz that he abandoned Lee those two years ago.
Lee continued his attack of Miguel and Wentz outside the ring, potentially even writing them off NXT so they can return to TNA, but moreover cementing himself as a heel going forward.
Elsewhere on tonight’s NXT, it seems that TNA’s Joe Hendry made it clear that he isn’t intending on going anywhere.
