A WWE star has addressed their upcoming retirement match.
As previously mentioned, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble announced that he would make his return to the ring on a WWE live event in his hometown of Charleston, West Virginia this Sunday, December 11.
This bout will mark Noble’s first bout in seven years.
WWE posted a new video on their YouTube channel with Bryon Saxton interviewing Jamie Noble about his upcoming comeback.
After being asked about making his return in his hometown at the Charleston Civic Center,
Noble said:
“I’m super excited. When I was a kid, we’d go all the time. But it was more Crockett Promotions, so it’d be Dusty and Flair and my favorite, The Rock N’ Roll Express.”
“So just everything just kinda fell in line and I’m super excited. I’m glad it’s in West Virginia. Glad everybody jumped on board and I’m ready to go.”
Saxton went on to ask Noble how his body feels after seven years away. Jamie replied by revealing some of the NXT talent that have helped him train for the comeback.
He stated:
“Good. When I looked at the dates and trying to get everything ready, I was worried about a training camp and how I’d hold up. But it’s been great.”
“It’s obviously rough getting used to going at it, and some of these guys over here, Regal’s kid, Drew Gulak came in. So it’s been challenging, but I feel like I’m there. I feel like they got me ready. I plan on killing it.”
When asked to reflect on his career and what kind of legacy he wants to leave ahead of his comeback, Noble answered:
“Just that I played it forward. I tried to help everybody, you know what I mean? Try to be a good coach. Try to be a mentor. Just try to teach and live through them.”
“I love helping Seth and Finn. And I just wanna be remembered that guy that passed it along and then helped everybody as much as I could.”
Noble concluded with one final message for those looking forward to his return this weekend, saying:
“Thank you for their support, you know what I mean? Especially being the hometown. I’m just gonna kill it, I’m excited.”
“Appreciate everyone coming out. The phones have been blowing up and lots of messages. Tons of support from other athletes. So I’m just super excited and I’m gonna make the most of it.”
