A rising WWE star is keen to be the one to officially retire John Cena later this year, as well as two other veteran names on the roster.
With just eight WWE appearances left before he hangs up his jorts forever, there is much speculation regarding who WWE will choose to face off with John Cena in his final-ever match in the company.
Speaking with Going Ringside, current WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi was asked about potentially retiring John Cena, with the Nigerian star keen on the idea.
“If I could catch John Cena… I’ll put him out, I’ll show him the door, he’s on the way out, so watch your step, you know? I would. CM Punk would be another good one.”
After he brought up CM Punk’s name, Femi was then asked about potentially facing off with the Best in the World:
“Big man, different style. Smaller guy, but very experienced, and he’s carved out his own move set, and he’s well recognized within the wrestling ecosystem, and so am I. So those are the interesting scenarios. It’s limitless what we can do.”
A match with Randy Orton was also brought up, with Femi expressing his desire to “show him the door” in order to make way for a “new crop of superstars” in WWE:
“I would definitely fight Randy. Just feel sorry for Randy, his back. I’ll show him the door too. It’s about time. I grew up watching those guys. I think they’ve been on top for a very long time and I think enough is enough. I think it’s time for the new crop of superstars to rise up to the top.”
Femi has reigned as WWE NXT Champion since New Year’s Evil on January 7, most recently defeating Je’Von Evans at WWE Heatwave on August 24.
While it’s not yet known who Cena will face, we do know that his final WWE match will be taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Boston on December 13.
