The outside world often gets in the way of people being pushed in WWE. Sure enough, the pandemic is no exception as a new report states.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is currently reporting that WWE star Riddick Moss was in line for a big push before the pandemic began. This was hinted at back in February with his reign as 24/7 Champion.
The report states that Moss told them that he sat out for several months due to a member of his family being at a higher risk of COVID-19. Paul Heyman helped him with this as to avoid any potential heat.
Moss’ reign as 24/7 Champion was noteworthy as he defeated Ricochet clean on Raw. The decision was heavily criticized at the time as Ricochet was coming off the decisive loss at the hands of Brock Lesnar at Super Showdown.
Moss returned to WWE television on July 3, defeating Humberto Carrillo on Main Event. He has also been one of the stars featured on Raw Underground. The first week he defeated Cal Bloom while the second week he fought to a no contest with Arturo Ruas. It still remains to be seen whether his push will carry over now that WWE is leaving the Performance Center.
