WWE/TNA Wrestling
An NXT star has become the latest name from WWE to win a TNA Wrestling championship at Final Resolution tonight.
There is a big NXT vs TNA theme to Final Resolution with a number of matches featuring stars from both brands opposing each other.
One of those matches has played host to a title change, as Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo is the new TNA International Champion.
Stacks defeated Steve Maclin tonight at Final Resolution to win the title.
Maclin had held the title in his second reign from October 12, when he won it back from Frankie Kazarian at Bound For Glory, who had beaten Maclin for the title previously.
In addition to now being the TNA International Champion, Stacks is also a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Tony D’Angelo.
He is also still officially recognized as the NXT Heritage Cup Champion, although he hasn’t had the Heritage Cup trophy with him for months after D’Angelo threw it off a bridge in July at the Great American Bash.
Stacks is far from the first WWE NXT talent to hold a TNA title after the two companies started their partnership, with Kelani Jordan, Trick Williams and DarkState all being former TNA champions.
