The Women’s Tag Team Championship has once again been vacated following last night’s (May 19) episode of SmackDown.
Former champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were forced to relinquish the titles following an injury to Liv during their most recent defence against Bayley and Dakota Kai.
Liv wasn’t the only one who left that match with an injury, as Dakota Kai is also currently on the sidelines after suffering an injury in that bout.
WWE officially announced that the Championship has been vacated, with new champions set to be crowned on the May 29 episode of Raw.
Bayley took to Twitter after the announcement, saying that the titles have ‘been through a lot’, but there is still magic waiting in them.
She wrote:
“These titles have been through A LOT. The ones who’ve held them know the pride and sometimes the extreme struggle that comes with them. But we keep fighting for them, we take a stand for them. Through injuries, break ups and hopeful opportunities…..there’s magic in there waiting”
Bayley will be a part of the four-way match to crown the new champions on May 29, teaming with IYO SKY to take on the teams of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville and Raquel Rodriguez and a replacement partner, who was seemingly revealed at the tapings for next week’s SmackDown last night.
