WWE has apparently written a popular Raw star off of television on this week’s (June 21) edition of Raw.
On the show, the main event saw WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeat Xavier Woods in a Hell In A Cell match, before he continued the assault on Woods after the match in front of his tag team partner, Kofi Kingston.
This was not accidental, as on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said he was told this was done to write Woods off of TV. Alvarez said:
“I think Xavier Woods is getting written out of the storyline. I’m not positive about that, but I did have someone mention that to me last night.”
WWE announced that Woods’ partner Kofi Kingston would challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at Money In The Bank on July 18.
The real reason behind WWE doing this match inside the cell on Monday was because USA Network requested one after FOX got one on SmackDown this past Friday.
