
It’s being reported that WWE is set to team with MGM to reboot classic competition series ‘American Gladiators’.
According to Deadline, “a slew” of WWE stars will feature on the show, which will be a “reimagined version” of the series.
American Gladiators was one of the first ever reality competition series, and saw athletes compete in obstacle courses and against the show’s gladiators.
The report states:
Mark Burnett and his team are currently pitching the rebooted series, which is based on the format created by Johnny Ferraro and Dan Carr, to broadcasters and platforms.
WWE and MGM will be executive producers of the project.
There was previously a rebooted version in 2008 which had Hulk Hogan and Muhammad Ali’s daughter as the hosts.
