Last night, some old tweets came to light from Tye Dillinger and Cedric Alexander’s account where the pair joked, separately, about rape. To iterate, they were not joking with each other and the tweets were posted a year apart.
While it’s unknown who dug up these old posts, the pair acted immediately to rectify the situation which led to much criticism from fans. Some even called for them to be fired. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander immediately deleted all of his past tweets, while current SmackDown Live star Tye Dillinger came out and met the backlash head-on.
I have no excuse for my old tweets. I was a different person six years ago, and I’m beyond ashamed at what I considered “humor” . I’m so damn embarrassed and I’m truly sorry to anyone I’ve offended.

While it’s currently unknown if WWE will feel they have to act on said findings, and many will have their own views, it’s mightily unfair that people would be judged on what they did in the past. People do change with time.
