A number of WWE stars have reacted to the news that Ronda Rousey is setting back into an MMA ring for the first time in almost a decade.
Having last competed at UFC 207 in December 2026, Ronda Rousey is set to face Gina Carano on May 16, with the bout being streamed on Netflix.
The fight takes place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, the venue that hosted WWE Money in the Bank back in June 2025.
Ahead of the Most Valuable Promotions event, a number of WWE stars have reacted to the return of Ronda Rousey to MMA, replying to the official announcement on the Netflix Sports Instagram.
WWE’s backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley would react with a simple message, posting:
“wow!!!!!”
Charlotte Flair would share a response featuring five fire emojis, while fellow MMA competitor and former WWE star Sonya Deville would share more of those emojis.
Flair would also share another message, instructing Rousey to:
“Let’s go, woman.”
Natalya, now with a less forgiving character in WWE as Nattie, would share a reponse that reads:
“Let’s go!!!!!”
Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan would share her thoughts on the return, with an emoji-laden response and a single word:
“biiiiiiiiiiiiiitch”
Rousey, herself, would address the match announcement on Twitter, teasing her potential future in MMA, posting:
“Been waiting so long to announce this: Me and @ginacarano are gonna throw down in the biggest super fight in women’s combat sport history!
“And we’re partnering with the fighter-first promotion @MostVpromotions as well as the baddest streamer on the planet @netflix!
“This is for all MMA fans past, present and future. More to come… much more ;)”
Rousey last competed in WWE at SummerSlam 2023, losing to Shayna Baszler, with subsequent reporting noting an interest from the TKO Group owned company in working with the former Women’s Champion.
Most Valuable Promotions is owned by Jake Paul, the brother of WWE star Logan Paul, and Nikisa Bidarian.
