The official retirement match for a WWE name has been announced, and it’s taking place in just a few days’ time.
For the past few months, former NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura has been winding down her career ahead of a retirement match this month.
We now know exactly what the match will be and who she’ll be facing.
On April 29, Satomura’s retirement match will take place for Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling in Tokyo, Japan.
The match will be a tag team match, with Satomura teaming with Manami against Aja Kong and Chihiro Hashimoto.
Kong and Satomura have history going back decades, with Hashimoto also having previous matches against Satomura years ago.
Manami is 20 years old and was trained by Satomura.
Satomura is still listed on WWE’s current roster page on the company’s official website, and still seems to be involved in some kind of coaching role for NXT.
She had matches for WWE last year when the company had three shows in Japan, with the last of those being a singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship against then-champion Bayley.
Her last WWE televised match was against Roxanne Perez at NXT Roadblock 2023.
