A pair of WWE stars thought they were being “kidnapped” moments before they got engaged in Paris.
On December 26, 2024, WWE NXT’s Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Arianna Grace announced their engagement in Paris, France – with the happy couple sharing a picture of themselves to social media in front of a picturesque backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
Almost one year on, the two stars reflected on the experience during an interview with The Wrestling Classic, with Stacks being asked whether he felt that Arianna predicted it was coming.
Stacks said:
“I think she knew, no matter how much you want to try and keep it a secret. I wanted to make it special, Paris is very special to her, and I can only hide so much.
“We’re getting there and we’re doing the whole day, she wanted to go see the Eiffel Tower, but I was trying to convince her like ‘No, you don’t want to see that thing yet, right?’ ‘Let’s do it later, you know?’ But we ended up seeing it during the day, but that kind of cut into the time that we needed to get ready.”
Arianna then interjected, saying:
“Well, we were on the Eiffel Tower because I pretty much planned the whole trip, and so we’re on there as per the itinerary, so he knew where he could plug things. I created it so there was room for something.
“I was hoping to God that he would because if there was a time it’s literally now. Like it’s literally now or never.
“So we’re on the Eiffel Tower and he’s like ‘We need to leave soon because I have some dinner planned for us’, and in that moment I had to turn around and I was giggling, I was like ‘secret dinner plans, it’s happening!’”

Stacks then revealed that he was coordinating his plan to propose with a woman in Paris, but things took a surprising turn after he met up with her:
“So I ended up coordinating this with a lady and she sent me some latitude and longitude coordinates to meet her at. So I’m just looking like a stupid idiot. I’m telling her (Arianna) we’re down there looking for a boat or something for dinner. “And then this lady just comes out of nowhere and just blindfolds her and just takes her hostage. And I’m like ‘Dude, I didn’t pay for this package, what is this? This wasn’t the plan.’ And she’s like, ‘Quick we got to run.’”
Arianna: “And I was nervous because I thought what if he thought that he had purchased some engagement package but we were getting kidnapped and he just didn’t know. I was like, I really hope we’re not getting robbed and kidnapped now because I have a blindfold on. “The lady’s like, ‘Run, run, run.’ His hand is in my hand, I’m like ‘Oh god what’s happening?’”
Stacks: “Yeah, in that moment in my head I was thinking ‘we might be getting kidnapped too.’ But we get there, we had to run because the Eiffel Tower shimmers for only a certain amount of time so we were trying to hit that window. But we got there, the pyro starts going off.”
Arianna: “That was crazy because this whole time I’m thinking it’s a boat and I’m thinking that we’re probably late to get to the boat and everybody’s probably on the boat like ‘Why haven’t we left yet these people are taking so long.’
“But then we finally got there, they took off my blindfold, the proposal was right in front of me. It’s like oh, it’s right there. It was him, this giant harp, fireworks, a guy with a saxophone, champagne, the Eiffel Tower. It was crazy… It was perfect.”

Stacks would then note that the engagement was “almost perfect”, only the band that was there for the engagement mistook his song request, playing something entirely different than Hilary Duff’s ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ which was a sentimental song that he had requested.
