WWE Stars’ Upcoming Reunion Cancelled Due To Injury, Replacement Announced WWE

An upcoming reunion of two WWE stars has now been cancelled after an injury suffered during a match on Raw.

When both Penta and Rey Fenix joined WWE earlier this year, they did so by debuting on separate brands, with Penta joining the Raw roster while Fenix joined the SmackDown roster.

The pair have yet to team together in WWE, though the Lucha Brothers have been referenced on WWE television several times, and their first match together in WWE was announced for the upcoming AAA Guerra de Titanes event on December 20.

Penta and Fenix were set to reunite to face El Grande Americano and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio on the show, but that will no longer be the case.

On the November 24 episode of Raw, Penta suffered an injury during his Last Time Is Now Tournament clash with Solo Sikoa, which led to Sikoa advancing by forfeit over Penta.

Taking to Instagram today, Penta announced that he had not been medically cleared for this weekend’s AAA Guerra de Titanes event, and his reunion with his brother Rey Fenix will be delayed.

Penta announced that WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio will be replacing him in the match.
