WWE Issues Statement On Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton Incident

WWE Issues Statement On Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton Incident WWE

WWE has addressed the situation between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton ahead of their championship match at WrestleMania 41.

Last week, Flair and Stratton reportedly went off-script during an in-ring promo segment with personal comments about each other as a result of genuine real-life issues that have been building up between them.

While last week’s issues were believed to be legitimate, WWE is evidently now playing things up and building them into the storyline.

Part of that came before tonight’s April 11 episode of SmackDown when fan footage emerged on social media of a brawl between the two women in the parking lot, which had been instigated by Flair.

Then, during SmackDown itself, announcer Joe Tessitore commented on both the brawl and last week’s promo.

Tessitore said that there are unspoken rules in wrestling and lines you’re not supposed to cross, and last week, those lines were in fact crossed.

He said that both women have been punished – although he wasn’t specific about what the punishment was – and as a result of the parking lot brawl, Flair had been ordered to leave the arena and stay at home for the next week.

There’s been no word that either Flair or Stratton have legitimately been punished in any formal way, but there was said to be backstage heat on both, more so on Flair as she was believed to be the one that started the issues.
