For a few days, there were some serious mutterings about an intergender match between Dean Ambrose and Nia Jax after an advert for the match at an upcoming house show was leaked.
For whatever reason, WWE suddenly decided the match wasn’t a good idea and it was cancelled. One report suggested the leaked advert was “outdated” and the match was never seriously considered.
Despite this, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the idea of an intergender match is still very much something WWE are considering.
Meltzer notes that the issue isn’t that WWE officials are against the match, it’s more that the match was simply pulled from this event because they didn’t want to do it yet.
It very much depends on the creative direction Dean Ambrose takes in the next two months before his WWE departure in April at the end of his contract.
