Bad Bunny’s performance at WWE Backlash was well received and may stand him in good stead for an appearance at WWE SummerSlam.
At the May 6 premium live event, the Puerto Rican rapper stepped back into the ring to face off against Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight.
The match was good enough for Triple H to congratulate Bad Bunny when he returned backstage.
It was also previously reported that the match had “exceeded expectations” and that there was more than just Triple H backstage waiting to congratulate Bad Bunny.
Following their twenty-five minute encounter in Puerto Rico, attention has shifted to where WWE will use Bad Bunny next with a recent report stating that the upcoming SummerSlam in Detroit will be the next major stop for the award-winning performer.
This has been further supported by Savio Vega, who also received a positive reaction at the May 6 event, speaking to WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, who revealed:
“I hear they’re talking about SummerSlam for him. I don’t know. They know what they’re going to do, but Bad Bunny hit the ball out of the ballpark.”
It’s not clear whether Vega was speaking from closer to the source or whether he is aware of the report mentioned earlier.
WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 5 2023 and had, in mid-April, sold a record-breaking 32,000 tickets, marking the largest day-one sale for any stadium event outside of WrestleMania in the history of the company
