A wrestling star from another international company has been announced as making an appearance for WWE SummerSlam 2024.
One week ago, AJ Styles wrestled Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji in Japan in a match that Styles won.
That’s not where the WWE/NOAH relationship is ending, as the Japanese promotion made an announcement on social media today.
UPDATE – It has now been confirmed that Marufuji will be a guest commentator for the Japanese broadcast of WWE SummerSlam on ABEMA.
NOAH deleted the original announcement which was interpreted as him appearing in person at SummerSlam, posting a more specific version stating that he would be a commentator for the ABEMA broadcast.
WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 3 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio.
You can see the announcement in the tweet below.
We’ll keep you posted if any further details emerge.
