WWE SummerSlam Adds Raw Tag Team Title Match to Pre-Show

By Jamal Niaz

WWE SummerSlam has seen another title match added to an already stacked card, with the B-Team set to defend their Raw Tag Team Championships against the Revival.

The match was strangely made after Dash and Dawson failed to defeat the Deleters of Worlds and the title holders in a Triple Threat match on last night’s edition of Raw.

Illogical matchmaking aside, this will be music to the ears of long-time fans of the Revival who haven’t reached the immense heights of the tag team supremacy they had previously achieved in NXT. The Raw tag team roster has clearly lacked in quality and consistency in recent months, but maybe a win for the first ever two time NXT Tag Team Champions could bring legitimacy back to the division on Monday nights.

With Dean Ambrose now reunited with his Shield ‘brother’ Seth Rollins, and the chance that the Authors of Pain may get that monster push we were all expecting, this weekend’s pre-show could be the catalyst for a fresh start for the struggling tag team scene.

It’s easy to write off this match because of its place on the card but last year’s Summerslam produced a Match of the Year candidate between the Usos and the New Day before the main show had begun, and maybe this match will surprise fans in a similar way. On the other hand, that match didn’t feature Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, but you get the point.
