It was reported several weeks ago that WWE would not be holding SummerSlam in Boston next month, as had originally been planned. It looked like the show would be held at the Performance Center, away from a paying crowd.
However, several reports emerged earlier this week, indicating that WWE was planning something rather “wacky” for the location for the SummerSlam pay-per-view that is set to take place on August 23.
Reports suggested that WWE was considering holding the show in an outdoor location, with rumours even circulating that WWE higher-ups were considering holding the big PPV on a boat.
The reports of WWE planning something drastic for next month’s SummerSlam have seemingly been corroborated by WrestleVotes, who note that WWE’s efforts to find a location for the show are “astonishing and outlandish”.
Taking to Twitter, reliable source WrestleVotes noted the following about the efforts that WWE higher-ups are going through to find a suitable location for the upcoming pay-per-view:
“The lengths WWE are going to find a location for SummerSlam are both astonishing and outlandish.”
