“Less is more” is how the saying goes. Not in WWE’s eyes apparently as, according to RingsideNews, SummerSlam on August 19 could end up running for seven hours. Seven. Hours. That’s the equivalent of watching an episode of Raw and two episodes of SmackDown Live back-to-back-to-back.
The ‘Biggest Event of the Summer’ is scheduled to start at 7pm EST (12am BST) and is expected to run for at least four hours, which sounds long, but reasonable. However, cable companies are reporting that it could be broadcast until 12am EST (5am BST), which, including the two-hour pre-show that begins at 5pm EST (10pm BST), makes a seven hour run time. It doesn’t matter how many snacks you’ve bought, it won’t be enough. Buy more.
