On February 12, the Kansas City Chiefs beat Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 to become the Super Bowl LVII winners and holders of a WWE Championship.
In the long-running tradition of WWE giving the champion of the NFL was continued, with Patrick Mahomes finding the belt upon his return to the locker room.
Mahomes is Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and was also on the winning team for the Super Bowl in 2020.
Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune shared a video of the moment that Mahomes opened the WWE Championship.
The video also features the subsequent celebration in the Kansas City Chiefs locker room on his Twitter account.

WWE’s presence was felt during the game itself, with John Cena, The Undertaker, The Miz and others featuring in the commercials during the Super Bowl game.
Triple H had addressed non-wrestling champions who received a WWE Championship in an interview in 2021, comparing it to “going to Disneyland.”
