On October 6, 2018 the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia will play host to WWE Super Show-Down.
It was announced on June 16 that the marquee bout for the event will be The Undertaker vs. Triple H, in what is being called the “last time” the two will square off.
WWE are already building hype towards the encounter as they released the following promo package to their official YouTube channel yesterday:
Despite both being colossal names in WWE folklore, the pair have only squared off one-on-one 10 times, with the ‘Deadman’ holding a 7-3 record over the ‘Game’.
Three of ‘Taker’s victories of course came on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’, picking up wins at WrestleMania X-Seven and WrestleMania 27 before coming out on top in their most recent match – a Hell in a Cell bout with Shawn Michaels as Special Referee, at ‘Mania 28.
Both men last competed in the ring at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Triple H lost out to John Cena in the opener of that show, whereas the ‘Phenom’ defeated Rusev in a Casket Match.
Both also appeared at WrestleMania 34 earlier this year. The ‘Demon of Death Valley’ convincingly defeated John Cena, but the ‘King of Kings’ and wife Stephanie McMahon came up short against Kurt Angle and a debuting Ronda Rousey in a Mixed Tag Team Match.
Triple H vs. The Undertaker is the only match announced for WWE Super Show-Down thus far, though the following names are being advertised to appear:
- John Cena
- Roman Reigns
- Seth Rollins
- Ronda Rousey
- Shane McMahon
- Randy Orton
- Nia Jax
- Sasha Banks
- Big Show
- AJ Styles
- Charlotte Flair
- Daniel Bryan (despite his current contract coming to an end in September)
