Lars Sullivan took on Lucha House Party at WWE Super ShowDown on Friday in a three-on-one handicap match, his first on the main roster.
The former NXT star picked up the win via DQ after Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado all jumped into the ring to attack Sullivan. Lars laid out the three masked men after the match, leading some to question why he didn’t just win via pinfall to look strong.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that the initial plan for match saw Sullivan picking up the win in a dominant performance. However, the ending of the match was changed at some stage before the show.
While the reason for the change is not known exactly, it has been speculated that Sullivan will take on Lucha House Party once again at WWE Stomping Grounds. Perhaps WWE are saving his dominant win for the upcoming pay-per-view.
