A WWE star’s recent surprise appearance was kept a secret internally, with a WWE Hall of Famer instead being listed.
It was announced on last night’s episode of NXT that the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion is set to be determined at the upcoming NXT Battleground premium live event.
NXT General Manager Ava announced a combine for next week, with the 12 most impressive women entering qualifying matches for a ladder match to crown the inaugural champion at Battleground.
Ava would be interrupted by multiple hopefuls, including Jaida Parker, Arianna Grace, Sol Ruca and SmackDown star Michin.
Michin’s appearance came as a surprise to many and the company went to incredible lengths to keep it a secret before the show.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Michin was kept a secret, and was even listed internally under the name of WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze, who never appeared on the show in any capacity.
Michin was drafted to the SmackDown roster in the 2024 Draft alongside her fellow OC members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
Gallows and Anderson defeated Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont on last night’s NXT show.
