A huge update has emerged on WWE Survivor Series 2022, which will feature two WarGames matches.
As first reported by The Ringer, the iconic two-ring match stipulation will return to the WWE main roster for the November 26 premium live event.
Triple H told The Ringer the following:
“We’ll have a men’s WarGames match and a women’s WarGames match. The tradition of the Survivor Series has ebbed and flowed and changed slightly over time, but this will be similar to that. This will not be Raw versus SmackDown. It will be much more story-line driven.
“I still look at it as a traditional component to Survivor Series in there because it’s large teams of people competing. We just upped the ante a little bit with WarGames and made it evolve.”
WarGames returned to NXT in 2017 at the NXT TakeOver: WarGames event. The brand’s most recent bout under the stipulation took place at NXT WarGames 2021 in November, with Bron Breakker, Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo & Carmelo Hayes defeating Johnny Gargano, Max Dupri (LA Knight), Butch (Pete Dunne) and Tommaso Ciampa.
This is the latest major WWE change following Triple H taking over creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement in late-July. Triple H currently acts as the Chief Content Officer of WWE.
