A WWE name has given his take on the possible teams for the upcoming Survivor Series ‘WarGames’ event in San Diego.
Survivor Series is set to take place on November 29 and will seemingly feature a men’s WarGames match and women’s WarGames match, as has been the case since 2022.
The recent injury suffered by Seth Rollins has led to some major changes to WWE’s plans, with the men’s WarGames likely affected in a big way.
With CM Punk now World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the general consensus seems to be that Punk will lead the babyface WarGames team, with the heel team being led by The Vision.
On his Notsam Wrestling show, WWE broadcaster Sam Roberts made some suggestions for how things could play out in the lead-up to Survivor Series.
He said:
“I would have to believe that the men’s WarGames match is gonna be a Raw match. That doesn’t mean you’re gonna have nobody from SmackDown on the team, but I’ve gotta believe it’s gonna be a Raw match.
“I would believe that CM Punk is gonna be on one side of the cage, I think that CM Punk is gonna captain a team, and I think that on the other side is gonna be Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. And I think that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed will be tasked to come up with a team.
“I think that CM Punk will recruit Jey Uso, so we can see if they can get along.
“The fact that we saw Brock Lesnar in that WrestleMania poker game promo, I would imagine that Paul Heyman will be able to get Brock Lesnar. I don’t know, it’s a stretch. But I would love to see Brock Lesnar in WarGames.
“I think that when CM Punk and Jey Uso realize that The Vision has Brock Lesnar, they’re gonna realize that they need something, and that’s gonna be the one thing that allows CM Punk to swallow his pride and ask Roman Reigns to join the WarGames team.
“That’s gonna be a tall order because Roman Reigns does not like CM Punk. But I would imagine that Jimmy and Jey will both be on CM Punk’s team, and I would imagine they will try to convince Roman to join them.
“And I think they would say, ‘Uce, the three of us had Punk on our team last year and we won. So we need you Big Uce, this needs to happen and we need to get revenge on Heyman.’ And maybe that will be enough for Roman Reigns.
“After that, you’ll add more heels till you get to five-on-five, and you’ll go forward with it.”
