John Cena & Roman Reigns WWE Survivor Series 2025 Plans Update WWE

An update has emerged regarding John Cena and Roman Reigns’s plans for WWE Survivor Series WarGames later this month.

The upcoming WWE Premium Live Event sees the return of the men’s and women’s WarGames match, with CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso already confirmed for the men’s match on November 29.

With two spots open on the team, Dave Meltzer has provided an update on the possibility of John Cena and Roman Reigns forming a “dream team” with Punk, Uso and Rhodes.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that this will “not be happening”, with no word currently regarding their plans at the event:

“Now that John Cena already beat Dominik for the (WWE Intercontinental) title I thought that means that match (Mysterio vs. Cena) isn’t happening in San Diego.

“I figured, why not do Cena, Roman Reigns, Punk, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes and make it like a dream team for the babyface team at WarGames.

“Now I can tell you that that’s not happening. I was told ‘not even close. ’”

While Meltzer makes clear that both Cena and Reigns won’t take the last spots on the team, it isn’t clear if either man will individually factor into the men’s WarGames match, where the Punk, Uso & Rhodes team is set to face The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed), Logan Paul and two unnamed stars, or both men will appear elsewhere on the card.

Plans for the new WWE Intercontinental Champion at the PLE are yet to emerge, with Cena having recently beaten Dominik Mysterio to claim the title for the first time in his career.

Meltzer has also reported that Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio are seemingly unlikely to wrestle at Survivor Series WarGames.

Survivor Series WarGames marks one of three dates remaining for John Cena’s retirement tour, with the November 17 WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden his next stop ahead of the December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event.
