The real reason why a top WWE star has been suspended has now been revealed, following a notable angle on TV.

Following his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41, GUNTHER took his anger out on the WWE commentary team.

After initially attempting to put Michael Cole in a sleeper hold on the April 21 Raw episode, Pat McAfee ultimately became the Ring General’s victim, with GUNTHER choking McAfee out after he attempted to save Cole.

It was then announced on Friday (April 26) that GUNTHER has been fined an undisclosed amount and suspended “indefinitely.”

Per Cory Hays of BodySlam.net on Twitter, the reason for GUNTHER’s storyline suspension is because he requested time off.

GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship reign ended after 258 days, with the Ring General winning the gold from Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024.

Following his title win, Jey Uso is the fifth man to hold this iteration of the World Heavyweight Championship, with Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre also holding the gold, prior to Priest and GUNTHER.
