WWE Tag Team Confirmed For Match Against Each Other WWE

In what has become something of a trend in WWE NXT recently, another tag team has been confirmed for a singles match against each other.

On the May 23 episode of NXT, Hank Walker picked up a win over his own partner, Tank Ledger, in a “friendly competition” style match.

Their inspiration for having a match against each other came from the success of Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, whose story is that they had fights with each other in bars before becoming a tag team.

So now that Hanky Tanky have done it and it seemed to work for them, another team is set to follow suit, that being Malik Blade and Edris Enofé.

On last week’s May 30 NXT, Blade suggested the idea to Enofé who didn’t exactly agree it was the right thing to do.

However, last night (June 6), after seeing how much it’s benefited Hanky Tanky, Enofé eventually agreed, and so the Blade vs Enofé singles match is set for next week’s June 13 episode.

Blade also pointed out on Twitter afterwards that the new group of Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson already have a faction name – the Meta-Four – after only being together since May 28, while Blade and Enofé have been a team since January 2022 and still don’t have a team name.

It worked for Hank and Tank, but given how the whole thing has been set up, things might not be as smooth sailing for Blade and Enofé, but we’ll have to wait and see.

They were confronted by NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus backstage, so the two options coming out of next week seem to be either a future title match, or, maybe even a breakup considering Enofé’s hesitancy.

Also set for next week’s NXT is Noam Dar defending the Heritage Cup against Nathan Frazer, Baron Corbin vs Ilja Dragunov, and a six-man tag match with Mustafa Ali, Tyler Bate and Wes Lee against Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler of Schism.
