An update has emerged on a newly reunited WWE tag team following today’s Monday Night Raw (March 31).
WWE Raw at the 02 Arena in London saw the reunion of England’s own New Catch Republic, competing together for the first time since Tyler Bate fell to injury last Summer.
Taking on The New Day, Dunne and Bate didn’t seem to have missed a step when it comes to their in-ring chemistry, however, their return was not a winning one as Kofi Kingston pinned The Bruiserweight to bring he and Xavier Woods a step closer to a World Tag Team Title shot against The War Raiders.
After the defeat, WWE Raw backstage correspondent Jackie Redmond caught up with Bate and Dunne for an interview, with the former having a far more upbeat perspective on the result than the latter.
When asked for his thoughts on returning to action to reunite with Dunne Bate said:
“Indeed I am healthy and I am chuffed, absolutely chuffed to be back here. New Catch Republic is back together, we’re in the UK we’re in London in the 02 Arena and things are looking pretty good right now.”
Cutting the ‘Big Strong Boy’ off was Dunne, who was clearly irked by his partner’s comments:
“What are you on about? Get your head screwed on we just lost get your head together we gotta get focused.”
Urging Dunne to look at the positives, Bate answered:
“Get my head together? Cup half full man think of the positives. It’s all about perspective cup half full. They finally got your name right.”
To which Dunne replied:
“Fair enough.”

Dunne had previously been competing as a solo act on Raw since Tyler Bate suffered a torn pectoral injury in July 2024, turning heel shortly after the team’s forced hiatus.
We will provide updates on Bate and Dunne’s status as a team as the weeks progress.
