WWE Tag Team Split Latest Update

Tonight, an update on a WWE tag team that has seemingly teased a break up over the past several weeks on SmackDown.

On tonight’s August 9 WWE SmackDown, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory lost a match against the Street Profits, costing them a chance to try and reclaim the WWE Tag Team Championship.

However when they were unsuccessful, there was yet another layer of intrigue added to their fractured friendship.

With Austin Theory knowingly ‘speculating aloud’ in front of Nick Aldis, he said it seems like anyone can make a match and Aldis will make it official, such Grayson Waller taking on Kevin Owens.

Aldis interrupted to say he loved the idea and made Waller vs Owens official for next week’s SmackDown.

When Waller questioned why the match would happen, Theory reassured him in an ominous way – saying he would have Waller’s back, just like Waller always has his.

Notably, Grayson Waller frequently does NOT have Theory’s back, so this was Theory getting back at Waller for what’s become weeks, even months, of mistreatment.

By the end of the night, DIY had defeated Pretty Deadly to advance to meet the Profits next week to determine who will next challenge the Bloodline for the titles.
