Following the September 30 episode of WWE Raw, an update has been provided on the possible split with The New Day.
On the September 30 edition of Monday Night Raw, New Day’s Xavier Woods defeated Rey Mysterio after ‘inadvertently’ removing his mask.
After the match, Woods’ tag team partner Kofi Kingston questioned him about the way he won before letting him know that he had gotten his New Day brethren a shot at Jey Uso’s Intercontinental Championship.
However, later in the show, Woods inadvertently cost Kofi Kingston his match against Chad Gable after tripping Gable before Kingston was about to hit Trouble In Paradise.
This led to eagle eye viewers seeing the two men arguing during a backstage interview with GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser.
On October 1, WWE posted a backstage video of the dispute between The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The caption reads:
Things are getting heated between these two…
During the back and forth, Kingston questioned why Woods would interfere in his bout, while Xavier stated that he was appointed the quarterback of the team by Kofi and was trying to help him.
It remains to be seen what will happen next between The New Day and their teased split at the time of this writing.
Xavier Woods will challenge Jey Uso for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the October 7 episode of Monday Night Raw.
