WWE Talent EXODUS?

WWE Talent EXODUS?

WWE could be facing something of an exodus in the next few months with several contracts of big name stars set to expire.

The will he/won’t he saga of Daniel Bryan has been rumbling on for a while with all indications pointing to him extending his stay with the promotion, but that may not be the case for the quartet of talent WWE signed from NJPW at the start of 2016, namely AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

According to reports, the quartet signed three years deals when they put pen to paper and all four expire in January 2019. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that 42-year-old Styles was “very happy” in WWE and making more money than at any point in his career so he would likely stay on with the promotion.

The cases of Nakamura, Anderson and Gallows are less clear. New Japan is obviously interested in bringing Nakamura back into the fold and capitalizing on the international fame he has achieved under the WWE umbrella to help boost their own global expansion. They may offer him a lucrative contract to return, though it would be tough for them to match what WWE are paying him financially.

Gallows and Anderson have been rumored to be unhappy in WWE for years and it is easy to see why. The duo were top stars in New Japan but have been relegated to infrequently used midcarders who are rarely involved in top programs or angles. A return to New Japan would certainly be more creatively satisfying for them, though as with the other two it likely comes down to finances.
