Update On Big WWE Target’s Contract Status

An update has emerged on the contract status of Nick Aldis, following his IMPACT Wrestling return amid WWE rumors.

Following Aldis’ NWA exit in late-2022, it was heavily speculated that the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion would sign with WWE.

This ultimately didn’t happen, with Aldis instead returning to IMPACT at the April 16 Rebellion pay-per-view.

Following his appearance, it was reported that Aldis had officially signed with IMPACT.

Fightful Select (subscription required) now reports that Aldis currently has a short-term agreement with IMPACT.

Sources reportedly told Fightful that Aldis is more concerned about seeing how things would work with him in the company, and if he’d be a positive asset.

Aldis reportedly didn’t want the status of his deal to overshadow the wrestling at IMPACT.

In a previous report, Fightful stated that WWE maintained interest in Aldis, but due to ‘corporate moves’ the company wasn’t making any main roster hires.

It had been reported that several WWE names indicated that there was a ‘hiring freeze’ in the company.

No main roster hires have been publicly revealed since January 2023, with the exceptions being names that were already signed by the company in 2022.
