A star who previously had WWE interest has revealed that they still intend to wrestle the likes of IYO SKY and Kairi Sane.
Following Mayu Iwatani’s departure from STARDOM, it was heavily speculated that she could join WWE, with the company pursuing her in the past.
Iwatani’s new home promotion has now been confirmed to be Marigold, with a press conference being held to announce this news.
During the press conference, Iwatani revealed that despite not signing with WWE, she did put pen to paper with potential matches against current WWE stars in mind.
Noting that she’s hopeful for matches against IYO SKY, Kairi Sane and Giulia, Iwatani said:
“IYO-san and KAIRI are real superstars. So, one of the reasons why I transferred was because I wanted to wrestle with members like IYO-san, Kairi, and even Giulia.
“Well, IYO-san in particular is like an older sister to me, and I want to wrestle with her and team up with her.”
Reports indicated that while Giulia signed with WWE in April 2024, the deal was that she’d only begin with the company following a run with Marigold.
IYO SKY notably competed for Marigold in July 2024, defeating Utami Hayashishita after 23 minutes of action.
While Kairi hasn’t wrestled since December 2024, the WWE star recently revealed that she’s stronger than before after recovering from a ligament injury.
